Sign up for our spring West Coast Tour

Time is running out to be a part of this year’s West Coast Tour! Excitement is building as the two-month cycling adventure this May and June in British Columbia draws closer. We still have spots open, so please keep spreading the word! Our goal is to have the tour filled by the end of March.

We've extended the deadline for bursary applications!

Did you know Otesha offers bursaries to help tour members who want to ride on tour but face economic barriers? To give more people a chance to apply, we’re extending the application deadlines for this year’s Cliff Pilkey Changemaker Bursary.
  • Deadline for West Coast Tour members: April 2
  • Deadline for Pedal to Plate Tour members: June 6
  • Deadline for East Coast Tour members: July 21
Check out our bursaries page for more info and to apply!

Join the Olumni Speakers Collective

speaker copy 2

To help get the word out about our upcoming tours, we’ve created a Speakers Collective for Olumni who are keen to share their passion and personal stories. We’re on the prowl for four former tour members to deliver presentations this spring and summer in their communities. As a speaker, you’ll receive an honorarium of $250, something uber-cool to add to your résumé and the chance to inspire up-and-coming changemakers.

Check out our Speakers Collective page for more details and the online application form.

Otesha is recruiting new board members

Looking for a meaningful way to share your passion and skills? We’re seeking up to three individuals who share The Otesha Project’s mission and values to join the board of directors and help the organization grow. We’re specifically on the lookout for individuals who have experience in marketing, fundraising, finance, and/or organizational development.

Click here for more information about this opportunity.

Check out our article in the Huffington Post!

At Otesha, we’re all about building connections. Connections between our consumer choices and global issues. Connections between each other. Connections with our planet. We recently wrote an article for Huffington Post about the important role meaningful connections play in building a sustainable future.

Last Word

This month’s Last Word comes from Olumni Kat Williams, who describes how she and her teammates chose to approach their tour in 2008.

“We wanted to be approaching each other and the communities with open palms. It’s a sign of peace. We wanted to make sure we weren’t going anywhere with answers. Instead, we were constantly arriving with the hope of generating relationships, discussions and questions.”

Until next time, keep on grinning and spinning!
