We’re leaping into spring with exciting news:
Otesha is pumped to announce its first ever SUV Tour!

Yes, the Sustainable Urban Velo-Adventure Tour!

Catch you off guard? We’re just having some April Fools Fun. (But really, SustainableUrbanVelo-Adventure could be a good name for the Tour we’re truly pumped to tell you about – The Pedal to Plate Tour!)

Embrace the Stay-Cation - Cycle your region!Savouring the Greater Toronto Foodscape by Bicycle (and maybe cuddling some baby goats along the way)

On a recent CBC Radio Snippet, Otesha-Superstar Kira Burger made a pitch for the staycation, explaining that one of the most rewarding places to travel by bicycle is in your own region.

There’s nothing quite like learning about a region’s food system by pedalling right through it; savouring the sights, sounds, and tastes along the way.

For the first time, Otesha is bringing its all ages, multi-generational learning tour to the Greater Toronto Area from August 10-18.

Think you’re ready to try your pedals at this 9 day velo-staycation? Give it a go!

Walking the Talk

Make your town a Fair Trade Town!Take Action for a Fair-Trade City!

Otesha recently wrote a letter of support for Fair Trade Ottawa’s campaign to make Ottawa a Fair Trade City.

The Fair Trade Town/City designation is a step toward ensuring that our communities are incorporating ethical procurement policies that support sustainable livelihoods for those who produce many of the goods we enjoy.

You too can take action for Fair Trade! Learn about Fair Trade Towns here.

Ottawa residents: Individuals can sign the petition here.

O-lumni, Listen up!

Otesha Olumna Miriam Stein (Across the Rock Tour-09) is currently completing a CUSO Placement in Cameroon, supporting the development of farmer's markets and improvements in income generating activities with rural women's groups with the African Model Forest Network.

There are some new placements in the model forest that revolve around improving agriculture for climate change mitigation and value-chain development. There is also a gender specialist position. French speaking O-lumni, this could be a great opportunity for you! Check it out here.
