Bursary Program

Grab life by the handlebars!

An Otesha tour is an exercise in generosity – community hosts open their doors to the team, tour members share their energy through performances and workshops, and a network of volunteers supports every step of the trip from beginning to end.

At the centre of the magic are the volunteer tour members – and each of you mobilizes your own community to support the team’s changemaking mission. Fundraising not only gathers the resources you need for the road, it gets people thinking about what you will be doing and the choices available to them. Every tour member fits their fundraising efforts to their community of support (see the Fabulous Fundraising Guide for details on how to make it happen!). Some communities are able to give generously, others are not in a position to contribute financially.

The Otesha Project is committed to making its bike tours accessible to all. Therefore we offer bursaries based on financial need to assist tour members who are unable to raise their full project contribution. This money is drawn from funds raised by other tour members and from our network of individual donors.

Please note that bursary recipients are responsible for fundraising the difference between the amount of the bursary and the minimum project contribution. We’re here to help with a comprehensive fundraising package and loads of support. Together we will make it happen!
